Anna Valverde

Founder

Anna Valverde (née Hygelund) is the founder of T8 Partners, an international art advisory and curatorial firm specializing in Post-War and Contemporary Art. Anna holds a Master’s degree in Contemporary Art from Sotheby’s Institute of Art (London, UK) and a B.S. in Finance from Santa Clara University (Santa Clara, California). She has over 15 years of global sales and curatorial experience.

She began her career working across industry sectors with stints in galleries, museums, and auction houses, before being appointed Head of Post-War and Contemporary Art at Paddle8, where she oversaw their New York, Los Angeles and London departments.

In 2017, Anna founded T8 Partners. T8 is an abbreviation for Traitorous Eight, who were a brilliant group of engineers from the early days of Silicon Valley. The engineers left a tyrannical management to form their own semiconductor company with the first use of VC funds in history. By naming the company after Traitorous Eight, Anna foregrounds her own upbringing in the Silicon Valley, as well as values of resourceful entrepreneurship and collaborative leadership.

Anna works with individuals and institutions to build exceptional and highly curated Post-War and Contemporary Art collections. She is recognized for building the most important private collection on Light and Space in the American Southeast and her curatorial work has been reviewed in Artforum, The New Yorker, The New York Times, Cultured Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, Hyperallergic, HuffPost, ARTnews and Artnet News.

Philanthropically, Anna has served on the Society for the Encouragement of Contemporary Art (SECA) at San Francisco’s Museum of Modern Art, San Jose Museum of Art’s Auction Committee, and the Executive Committee of ArtTable's NorCal Chapter. Currently, she is a founding member of Buffalo AKG Art Museum’s National Council and MoMa PS1’s Greater New Yorkers Council.
